A small country with about 8 million inhabitants, Austria is not only famous for Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Sound of Music, Mozart, apple strudel and good skiers. Austria also offers spectacular scenery around every corner-delightful lakes dotted with sailboats and ringed by soaring mountains, Alpine peaks and their icy world of glaciers, vineyards, historic cities and ancient castles. Not surprisingly, therefore, Austria's economy is inextricably aligned with tourism. Austria is also known for its good quality of life and food and for its hard-working but joyful people with a great sense of humor, openness and hospitality.
